One week after the first of the year, my resolution to update Gateway Groupies at least once a week has already fallen behind schedule, but wait! I have my butt in gear and I'm ready to plow ahead into St. Louis' biggest year yet. I'm feeling more good vibrations than six Marky Marks and the entire funky bunch x10!
So follow Laine and Julie as they take pictures and goof off in the cheapest venues and silliest locations St. Louis has to offer. I'm feeling particularly inspired since Laine started DVRing this wackjob PBS program where 3 dudes travel around the country checking out weird, outsider artwork. I think it comes on in the middle of the night, but thanks to our new AT&T U-Verse, we can record it every time it comes on with a click of the mouse.
TONIGHT

The Royale's Steve Smith is the main event at Maryland House @ Brennan's Arguments and Grievances. He will be debating against some pointy-headed snob on whose St. Louis is better: The South Side (YAAAAY!!!) or the Central West End (boooooooooo!!!). Debates starts at 9:00, but since Steve is the main event, you'll most likely have to sit through these riveting arguments first:
ant farming vs. lion taming
David Lee Roth vs. Sammy Hagar
Sort of fat vs. really fat
Winners are determined by audience hooting and hollering. We must support this kind of ridiculousness, so join me and be wowed by the best minds of our generation. Or really amused by drunken silliness. A niche is a niche is a niche.
